Mid-Air Single-Sided Acoustic Levitation in High-Pressure Regions of Zero-Order Bessel Beams

Conventional wisdom says objects levitate in low-pressure zones. We demonstrated that they can also be stably trapped in the high-pressure regions of Bessel beams — held nearly 40 cm away from a single-sided transducer array. A new paradigm for long-range acoustic levitation.
