MOTIVATION

Art

身の回りにあるものの役割を物体から引き離し、再構成することによって新たな命を吹き込むことに取り組んでいる。作品では、無機質なものを大量に並べ、電子工作によってリズミカルに、また時にランダムに動かすことで、生命を感じさせる技法を用いる。制作を通じて、命とは何かを、自身にそして鑑賞者に問いかけ続ける。

He works on giving new life to the roles of everyday objects by detaching them from the object and reconstructing them. In her work, she uses a technique in which she arranges a large number of inorganic objects and moves them rhythmically, sometimes randomly, by means of electronic manipulation, to make them feel alive. Through her work, she continues to question herself and the viewer as to what life is.

Research

計算機が物理現象を制御する自然を超越した世界を目指し、その環境の中で私たち人間がどのように進化するのかに興味をもっている。特に超音波などの波動技術により空間中の場を計算機を通じて制御し、物体を操作する技術の研究をしている。近年は超音波の非接触力を用いた液滴ベースのマイクロ流体プラットフォームを開発し、化学・生物学における実験の自動化を目指している。

He is interested in a world that exceeds nature, where computers control physical phenomena, and how we humans evolve in such an environment. In particular, he is researching techniques to manipulate objects by controlling fields through computers using wave technology such as ultrasound and holography. Recently, he has developed a droplet-based microfluidic platform that uses the non-contact radiation force of ultrasound to automate experiments in chemistry and biology.
